Therapeutic Approach

Safety Framework

  • I am dedicated to creating a nurturing and safe space where trust and authenticity can flourish within our therapeutic relationship.

  • For me, the therapeutic relationship is everything.

  • I believe that the bond between therapist and client is the foundation of successful therapy.

  • I am committed to showing up authentically, hoping to inspire you to do the same.

  • I will attune to your needs, listen deeply, and remain present, even during the uncomfortable and difficult moments.

  • I will also happily celebrate your wins, regardless of how big or small they feel.

Autonomy and Control

  • You will have full autonomy and control in therapy.

  • It's important to me that you feel empowered to communicate your needs and desires for our sessions.

  • Each time we meet, I'll check in with you about your week, recognizing that a lot can happen in a short time.

  • I'll ask what you need from therapy and what you'd like to explore further.

    • This process supports your journey of learning how to advocate for yourself and validating your needs.

    • I understand that this may be challenging, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

  • My goal is for you to experience and learn the value of sharing your needs and perspectives, while building trust in yourself throughout the therapeutic process

Holistic Lens

  • I approach therapy from a holistic and trauma-informed perspective.

  • I see symptoms and behaviors as adaptive responses that you've learned to keep yourself safe.

  • Your brain and body have adapted to your experiences, doing their best to provide safety and control.

  • With compassion, I seek to understand all parts of you and your experiences.

  • I hold space for healing and growth, meeting you where you’re at.

Therapy that suits you…

I recognize the unique differences in each person and understand that everyone has different needs. That's why I tailor therapy to meet your individual goals and preferences. Drawing from several therapeutic modalities, I ensure that therapy aligns with your needs and preferences. Below, you’ll find the three therapeutic modalities I draw from most, giving you a better idea of how we can collaborate in therapy.

**No matter the method used, my practice is rooted in a trauma-informed framework.

EMDR

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

  • It is a therapeutic modality that allows us to work together to safely heal from trauma or stuck experiences.

  • EMDR looks different than traditional talk therapy and utilizes bilateral stimulation.

  • EMDR is a structured therapy, however, I believe you, as the client, get to decide how you want therapy to look.

  • I deeply believe in your capacity to grow and heal, and I see you as the expert in your own life.

  • We may incorporate EMDR throughout our time together and in between sessions.

  • You can learn more about EMDR here.

IFS

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy is a unique and empowering approach to therapy that views each person as having multiple 'parts' or aspects of themselves.

  • Have you ever seen Inside Out? IFS is like that - learning about all the different parts that exist within you!

  • These parts can sometimes conflict or cause distress, but IFS helps you understand and heal these inner conflicts.

  • I create a safe and compassionate space for you to connect with your inner world, where all parts are welcome and respected.

  • Together, we'll uncover the wisdom and healing potential within you, guiding you toward greater self-awareness, balance, and wholeness.

  • I honor and respect however you choose to show up, creating a space where you can be your authentic self, just as I am my authentic self.

  • My goal is to understand your perspectives, experiences, thoughts, and feelings – to understand YOU.
